The Government of Kenya and the Government of Uganda are undertaking a
Joint Railways Concession transaction. After a public tender process,
the Joint Railways Concession Steering Committee representing the two
Governments pre-qualified the following as Lead Investor:
- NLPI Private Ltd. - Mauritius
- CANAC Inc. – Canada
- Maersk Kenya Ltd
- RITES Ltd. - India
- China Railway First Group Company – China
- Magadi Soda Company - UK
- Sheltam Trade Close Corporation – South Africa
The Pre-qualified Lead Investors are undertaking their independent due
diligence and are scheduled to submit bids compliant with Request for
Proposal Requirements by September 30, 2005.
The following pre-qualified Lead Investors applied and received
authorisation to form a consortium; RITES Ltd, Magadi Soda Company Ltd
and Maersk Kenya Ltd.
